Bohemian Brewery releases Cherny Bock Schwarzbier in a can.

"Darkness Cometh!" That's right, we are now offering our darker, richer and roastier black lager in the form of a canned Schwarzbier called "Cherny Bock". Can you say awesome?

From the Bohemian site:

"The word Cherny literally means ‘black‘ in Czech referring to the color of the rather surprising dark Schwarzbier with gentle bitterness to appeal your palette. A true gem to be discovered by specialty beer lovers."

Bohemian is currently selling cans of their Cherny Bock the brewery but those of you in their distribution area should see it on shelves relatively soon. For those of us that don't live close to the brewery, well, we can just sit around and hope that maybe someone we know who does will send us some!

Check out this great video of Bohemian Brewery's canning line filling and sealing fresh cans of Cherny Bock!

Bohemian Fan Bikes the Distance

If you’re only slightly interested, here are the quick stats right up front. The ride went better than planned and I was finished by October 3rd including one day off in Rochester, NY. That averages out to 80 miles per day. Most days were tail or cross winds, but two days were pretty miserable weather as Tropical Storm Nicole swept through New York and battered me with headwinds as well as constant rain. I had two broken spokes and one broken rack mount, but none requiring me to delay things severely. I camped five nights, spent one night in a hotel, and the rest of the nights were passed inside various homes. Riding with packed panniers day after day was slower than I expected and I spent a lot of each day riding. All in all it was a great time, a memorable life experience, and something I’m excited to do again. I want to take this opportunity to heartily toast Bag Balm and a surprising absence of saddle abrasions.

Up in the Utah high country you can see the snow is already here. We hope it will be a good ski season. We can't wait to get back on the mountain.

CANFEST, Reno’s International Canned Beer Festival is About Sustainable Drinking

CANFEST returned for its second year in Reno, NV at the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino last weekend. Over 20 breweries showed up including 21st Amendment Brewery from California, Capital Brewery from Wisconsin, Oskar Blues Brewery from Colorado, and Tall Grass Brewing Company from Kansas. It’s a festival showcasing craft beer in an environmentally friendly aluminum can. The festival’s proceeds go to The Nature Conservancy. You won’t see bottles here. It’s all about beers in a can! Let’s take a look!

We're down at the Red Bull Rampage

We jumped into the Brew Van and headed down to Zion. Or at least just outside of Zion. In Virgin, UT. Twenty-one of mountain biking s best riders threw down all they had while battling wild weather but when the skies cleared it was Zink who took home the trifecta the contest win Utah Sports Commission Best Trick Award and the Freeride Mountain Bike FMB World Tour season overall title.
